In a gripping final round, Carlsen outmanoeuvred the formidable Fabiano Caruana in an intense Armageddon match, solidifying his dominance on the global stage.

Meanwhile, the young Indian prodigy, Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu, showcased his remarkable talent, holding the indomitable Hikaru Nakamura to an incredibly tense classical draw. Despite Praggnanandhaa’s triumphant victory in the subsequent Armageddon encounter, he secured an impressive third-place finish behind the indomitable Nakamura.

Ju Wenjun Conquers the Women’s Championship

In the Women’s Norway Chess Tournament, the reigning Women’s World Champion, Ju Wenjun, emerged victorious, claiming the coveted title and a substantial prize of approximately $65,000. Ju Wenjun’s smooth classical win against her formidable rival, Lei Tingjie, paved the way for her triumph.

This remarkable achievement allowed Anna Muzychuk to secure the second-place position, courtesy of her nail-biting Armageddon victory over the illustrious Koneru Humpy.
