Maruti Suzuki Partners With Indian Navy For Northeast Outreach Programme

 

Maruti Suzuki India, the leading automobile manufacturer in the country, has embarked on a unique journey of collaboration and empowerment by teaming up with the Indian Navy. Their joint mission is to create awareness about career opportunities among the youth of Northeastern India through the ‘Khamree Mo Sikkim‘ outreach programme. This partnership not only reflects the commitment of all stakeholders to the Northeast region but also demonstrates the potential for positive change through collective efforts.

Setting Sail on a 6,500 km Expedition

  • On the 24th of September 2023, a remarkable expedition was launched from the Indian Navy base in Lonavala. Covering a staggering distance of 6,500 kilometers, this journey is set to span several weeks and involve the participation of 45 Navy officials.
  • These dedicated individuals will traverse diverse terrains in five vehicles, including three of Maruti Suzuki’s iconic off-roader Jimny models and two flagship Grand Vitara ALL GRIP SUVs.
  • The expedition’s route is carefully planned to cover key regions, including Mhow, Jhansi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna, Bagdogra, Gangtok, Lachen, Gurudongma, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Vishakhapatnam, and Hyderabad.

Promoting Development In The Northeastern region

Three Distinct Stretches with Unique Objectives

The ‘Khamree Mo Sikkim’ expedition is divided into three distinct stretches, each with its unique focus and purpose:

  • Stretch 1: INS Shivaji to Bagdogra

The first stretch of the expedition will take the participants from INS Shivaji to Bagdogra, covering diverse landscapes and engaging with local communities along the way.

  • Stretch 2: Comprehensive Coverage of Sikkim

Stretch 2 will comprehensively cover the state of Sikkim, providing an opportunity to empower and inspire the youth in this region.

  • Stretch 3: Gangtok to INS Shivaji

The final stretch of the expedition will extend from Gangtok, Sikkim, back to INS Shivaji, with a particular focus on empowering the youth in rural areas along the eastern coastal region.

Engaging with Local Communities
