Mini Nandi Farmer Prosperity Scheme 2026: Eligibility, Subsidy, Benefits and Online Application
The Mini Nandi Farmer Prosperity Scheme is a significant project in the livestock development, it is combining high-yielding local cattle with increasing the livelihoods of farmers. The objective of the scheme is to help farmers set up scientific dairy units through substantial financial aid to enable them to buy improved cow breeds and build modern dairies.
The scheme aims to improve rural economies and promote milk production. It provides assistance up to ₹11.80 lakh through the government for installing a dairy with 10 local cows. It focuses on women dairy farmers and aims at implementing the scheme online transparently.
The Mini Nandi Farmer Prosperity Scheme was launched to promote dairy farming by way of indigenous cattle breeds that produce more milk, such as Gir, Tharparkar, and Sahiwal.
This scheme provides financial help to entrepreneurs engaged in dairy farming to set up proper dairy farming units that are equipped with adequate infrastructure and healthy animals.
The scheme covers all the districts in the state with the aim of increasing milk production, promoting indigenous breeds of animals, and generating self-employment.
The main objective of the scheme is to enhance the income of farmers by promoting scientific dairy farming using the high-milk-yielding indigenous cattle.
The other objectives of the scheme are to further the genetic quality of livestock, develop rural dairy infrastructure, promote self-employment, and maximize the overall milk production.
Empowering women in the sector is another one of the important objectives that include putting a condition of doing at least 50 percent of the beneficiaries who will be offered assistance in the form of grants.
A major attractive feature of the Mini Nandi Farmer Prosperity Scheme is to provide large financial aids to the eligible beneficiaries.
In case of setting up a 10-cow dairy unit with indigenous breed and the unit costing ₹23.60 lakh, the government provides 50% subsidy of maximum ₹11.80 lakh. The rest of the funds will be contributed by the beneficiaries and bank loan.

In case the beneficiaries want to avoid taking a bank loan, they can arrange the financial assistance from their personal funds. For that, they must provide the proof of sufficient funds in their bank account for the past 6 months.
The subsidy is released in two stages to ensure the adequate execution of the project.
First Installment
The first installment amounting to the 25% of the cost of the project is released when the beneficiary develops the necessary dairy infrastructure.
Second Installment
The remaining 25% subsidy is given after the purchase of qualifying indigenous cows and the verification process carried out by the competent authorities is successful.
The transfer of the subsidy will be made directly to the beneficiary’s bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
Only indigenous cow breeds that produce large amounts of milk can be availed under the scheme.

Whenever its possible, the animals should be procured from recognized breeding centres outside the state to guarantee their high breeding quality.
The cows being acquired must conform to certain specifications relative to quality.
Only cows within their first or second lactation status may qualify for purchase, and the period of lactation should not be greater than 45 days at the time of purchase.

Before making applications for obtaining the benefit, there are several conditions that have to be fulfilled.
First, the applicant should have at least three years’ experience in raising cows/buffaloes.
Experience should be certified by Chief Veterinary Officer concerned).
Also, the beneficiary should have about 0.20-acre land for establishing dairy.
Finally, the applicants should have to get an affidavit confirming the availability of green fodder for the entire year from self-production or through arrangement with local fodder producers.
The program will not offer benefits to people who have received financial support from earlier dairy development programs.

The application procedure for the Mini Nandi Farmer Prosperity Scheme is available only through the online platform.
In case the number of applications is more than the number of available places, eligible beneficiaries will be selected through an electronic lottery organized by the committee led by the Chief Development Officer (CDO).
This digital procedure will allow for transparent procedures of beneficiary selection.
