Modi Government To Kick off Nationwide Yatra To Promote Awareness About Welfare Schemes On November 15
As the nation celebrates the birth anniversary of the revered ‘adivasi’ icon, Birsa Munda on November 15, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is gearing up to launch its ambitious “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.” This 72-day nationwide outreach and awareness campaign is aimed at promoting government schemes and reaching the vulnerable sections of society.
The ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ is scheduled to begin on November 15, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, a prominent figure in the tribal community. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the campaign by flagging off Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) vans. These vans will initially travel through tribal districts for a week, spreading information about government schemes. Subsequently, they will move to other districts starting from November 22, culminating on January 25 of the following year.
The primary goal of the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ is to “reach the unreached” and provide information to those who are yet to benefit from government schemes. This initiative seeks to extend a “joint partnership” with citizens by encouraging them to pledge their commitment to a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
The government has identified 20 flagship schemes for popularization during the campaign. These schemes include the Kisan Credit Card, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, and PM Kisan Samman, among others. The aim is to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries have access to these schemes and understand their benefits.
The ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ will have a vast footprint, covering approximately 2.6 lakh panchayats and over 3,700 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs). The government has custom-designed IEC vans for the campaign, equipped with audio-visual media capabilities, brochures, and booklets. These vans will use Hindi and regional languages to showcase major schemes and their achievements.
At the panchayat level, the campaign will include various activities to engage the local community. These activities range from beneficiaries sharing their experiences with government schemes to quiz competitions, virtual question-and-answer sessions with the Prime Minister, and on-site services such as health camps, Aadhaar enrolment, and ‘My Bharat’ volunteer enrolment.
Additionally, the campaign will feature drone demonstrations and interactions with progressive farmers to promote the Soil Health Card and natural farming. Programs will be organized to accommodate teachers, students, women achievers, young achievers, and local artisans.
Panchayats that have achieved 100% saturation of schemes like Ayushman Card, Jal Jeevan Mission, Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, and ODF Plus status will receive special recognition during the campaign.
