Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh is well-known for its barasingha, or swamp deer. This park played a crucial role in bringing back the barasingha population, which had been declining rapidly.
Kanha National Park was established on June 1, 1955, and became a tiger reserve in 1973. Besides the barasingha, the park is home to several other animals, including the Bengal tiger, Indian leopard, sloth bear, and dhole (wild dog).
