The national capital is set to host the much-awaited New Delhi World Book Fair 2025, a grand celebration for readers, authors, and publishers alike. This event, scheduled to run from February 1 to February 9, 2025, will take place at the Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan. With over five decades of legacy, the book fair promises to be a vibrant confluence of literature, culture, and knowledge.
Organized by the National Book Trust (NBT), India, under the Ministry of Education, and co-hosted by the Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the event is a major highlight in the global publishing calendar.
For the past 51 years, the New Delhi World Book Fair has been a cornerstone event in India’s literary and publishing landscape. It provides a platform for book lovers, publishers, and authors to come together, fostering a deeper appreciation for literature. This year, the event holds special significance as it coincides with the upcoming Delhi assembly elections, making it an even more prominent cultural gathering.
The 2025 edition of the World Book Fair will be held from February 1 to February 9, 2025, at the Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan. The recently constructed modern halls at Bharat Mandapam will serve as the venue for the nine-day literary fest, offering state-of-the-art facilities for exhibitors and visitors.
The central theme of this year’s book fair is ‘Republic@75’, celebrating 75 years of the Indian Constitution. The theme pavilion will focus on the vision for a strong India, highlighting the progress in nation-building and emphasizing the goal of achieving Viksit Bharat by 2047.

The YUVA Corner will showcase books written by 75 young authors selected under the YUVA – Prime Minister’s Scheme for Mentoring Young Authors. This initiative by the Ministry of Education aims to nurture the next generation of literary talent in India. Visitors can look forward to book launches, interactions with young writers, and panel discussions at this corner.
The Theme Pavilion, designed by the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, will serve as the centerpiece of the book fair. It will use creatives, graphics, installations, and artefacts to bring the theme ‘Republic@75’ to life. Visitors can explore books, visual displays, and interactive exhibits that celebrate India’s journey over 75 years.
The International Events Corner will bring together exhibitors, cultural missions, and agencies from around the world. This space will host events for both children and adults, offering a multicultural experience. It’s an opportunity to witness the global reach of literature and engage with foreign publishers and authors.
The Authors’ Corner will feature prominent writers discussing their works, sharing their insights, and engaging with readers. Additionally, the CEO Forum will serve as a networking platform for senior executives in the publishing industry, fostering business collaborations and industry discussions.
