The 1st US National Gatka Championship recently concluded at The Sikh Center of New York Inc., drawing hundreds of spectators. Organized by the Gatka Federation USA, this championship aimed to manage, standardize, promote, and popularize Gatka, the Sikh Martial Art, in the United States. Under the aegis of the World Gatka Federation, the event witnessed spirited competition, with the Kansas Gatka Association securing the runner-up position and the NJ Gatka Association achieving third place.
The championship saw over 100 enthusiastic participants, both boys and girls, representing different State Gatka Associations and Akharas in the United States. This event was jointly organized by the Gatka Federation USA in collaboration with the host state, the New York Gatka chapter, known as the New York Gatka Association.
On the final day of the championship, prominent figures including Gurinder Singh Khalsa, President Kalvinder Singh from Fresno, California, General Secretary Dr. Deep Singh, and Dr. Tinna presented trophies to the deserving winners. The officials from Gatka Federation USA extended their gratitude to all volunteers for successfully organizing the national-level Gatka championship in New York and congratulated all the winners.

Amritneer Singh Shaheed Baba of Ajit Singh Gatka Akhara NJ secured the first position.
Gurvinder Kaur from Kansas Gatka Association claimed the first position.
Oneet Kaur from Baba Ajit Singh Gatka Akhara NJ clinched the first position.
Vanshdeep Singh of Akal Gatka Gurmat Group New York stood in the first place.
Harnidh Kaur NY from Baba Deep Singh Gatka Academy, NY secured the first position.
Gurraj Singh clinched the first place.
Gurpreet Singh from Baba Deep Singh Gatka Academy, NY, and Oneet Kaur received the Most Valuable Players awards in the men’s and women’s categories.
The Kansas Gatka Association received the Best Team Award among the participating teams at the Championship.
The Judgement and Referee panel for the event featured seasoned professionals, including S. Lovepreet Singh Aman (Center Referee) from Canada, Sahib Singh (Canada), Sujan Singh, Jagjit Singh, Taranjot Singh, Jakirat Singh, Jashandeep Singh, Mandeep Singh, Simran Kaur, Prabhjot Singh, Gurpeet Singh, Sarabjit Kaur as Commentator, Sarabjit Singh, and Dalbir Singh.
