Nitin Gadkari Inaugurates India’s First Electric Truck Battery Swapping Station
In a significant step toward promoting green transportation and reducing carbon emissions, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated India’s first commercial electric truck battery swapping and charging station in Sonipat, Haryana. The facility has been set up at the Delhi International Cargo Terminal Private Limited (DICT) in Panchi Gujran village on the GT Road near Ganaur. This milestone marks a major leap in India’s efforts to decarbonize the logistics and transport sector.
The Sonipat station is India’s first facility dedicated to electric trucks, equipped for both battery swapping and charging.
