The award committee, headed by Jose George and including Jimmy George’s brothers Robert Bobby, Sebastian, Stanley, and Olympian Anju Bobby George, played a crucial role in selecting the deserving recipient.

M. Sreeshankar, currently ranked No. 4 in the World long jump list, has had a stellar year in athletics. His notable accomplishments include clinching silver medals at the Asian Games in China and the Asian Championships in Thailand. Additionally, he secured a bronze at the Paris Diamond League, showcasing his consistent and commendable performance throughout the year.

In 2022, Sreeshankar added to his accolades by winning the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Britain. His remarkable journey continued with a commendable seventh-place finish in the World Championships in the USA the previous year.
