Paradeep Phosphates Signs Rahul Dravid as Brand Ambassador

Cricketing icon Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the brand ambassador for Paradeep Phosphates Ltd. (PPL), one of India’s leading fertiliser companies. Announced on 5 November 2025, the partnership aims to leverage Dravid’s credibility and influence to promote sustainable farming practices, balanced fertiliser use, and farmer education across India.

Why This Partnership Matters

  • The collaboration reflects a growing trend in using trusted public figures to drive agricultural awareness, especially around newer technologies and inputs.
  • Paradeep Phosphates, known for its range of phosphatic, NPK, and organic fertilisers, aims to strengthen its connection with India’s farming community by associating with a national figure admired for his integrity and discipline.
  • The messaging aligns with national goals of promoting sustainable agriculture, improving soil health, and reducing overuse of chemical inputs, especially urea.

Campaigns Launched with Rahul Dravid

Two major pan-India campaigns were launched as part of this collaboration.

1. “Kheti Ka Game Changer”

  • Focus: Promotion of Jai Kisaan Navratna Nano Shakti Nano DAP, a next-gen fertiliser.
  • Message: Draws cricketing parallels — just as the right strategy changes the game, the right fertiliser usage transforms farming outcomes.

2. “NPK and Organic Fertilisers Ki Winning Team”

  • Focus: Encourages farmers to use a balanced mix of nutrients, including Paradeep’s NPK and organic products.
  • Concept: Reflects the team spirit in cricket, highlighting the need for a balanced mix of nutrients, akin to a well-rounded playing team.
  • These campaigns aim to simplify agronomy using relatable cricket metaphors, making technical agricultural advice more accessible to rural audiences.

Relevance for Indian Agriculture

  • Promotes Balanced Fertiliser Use: Helps address overdependence on nitrogen-based fertilisers like urea.
  • Supports Sustainable Farming Goals: Contributes to better soil health, higher yields, and environmentally friendly practices.
  • Empowers Farmers with Knowledge: Uses mass media and relatable messaging to inform farmers about nutrient management and input optimization.

The move aligns with broader government efforts such as the National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA) and PM-PRANAM (Programme for Restoration, Awareness, Nourishment and Amelioration of Mother Earth).
