PM Modi Launches ₹43,875 Cr Educational and Infra Projects including 3 IIMs, IITs, 20 KVs, 13 NVs, and AIIMS in Jammu

On February 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a series of ambitious educational and infrastructure projects across India, totaling an investment of ₹13,375 crore. These projects are part of a larger initiative that saw the launch of projects worth ₹30,500 crore in various sectors. The educational sector benefited significantly, with the establishment of new IIMs, IITs, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and an AIIMS, marking a significant boost to India’s educational infrastructure.

Educational Institutions Inaugurated

  • IIMs: New Indian Institutes of Management in Jammu, Bodh Gaya, and Visakhapatnam.
  • IITs and IIITDM: Permanent campuses for Indian Institutes of Technology at Bhilai, Tirupati, and Jammu, and for the Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing in Kancheepuram.
  • Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs): 20 new buildings for KVs across the country.
  • Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVs): 13 new buildings for NVs nationwide.
  • AIIMS Vijaypur, Jammu: A state-of-the-art All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Vijaypur (Samba), Jammu, established under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana’ with 720 beds, a medical college (125 seats), a nursing college (60 seats), and an AYUSH block (30 beds).

Other Notable Launches

  • Indian Institute of Skills, Kanpur: A pioneering skill training institute focusing on advanced technologies.
  • Central Sanskrit University Campuses: New campuses at Devprayag (Uttarakhand) and Agartala (Tripura).

Comprehensive Development Initiatives

In addition to the educational projects, PM Modi launched a comprehensive ₹30,500 crore worth of projects in the fields of education, railway, aviation, and road sectors. He also facilitated the integration of around 1500 newly recruited government employees in Jammu and Kashmir and engaged with beneficiaries of various government schemes, emphasizing the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu.’
