President Droupadi Murmu, in a historic virtual ceremony, launched the Ayushman Bhav campaign and the Ayushman Bhava portal from the Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar, marking a significant stride towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in India. This campaign aims to enhance the accessibility and affordability of healthcare services, especially for underserved communities.
President Murmu praised the Ayushman Bhav campaign for its multi-ministerial approach, highlighting its potential to bring healthcare services to the remotest corners of India. This approach is instrumental in realizing the ambitious goal of providing healthcare to all.
Emphasizing the principle of antyodaya (good health for all), the President lauded the involvement of local governance and announced that gram panchayats achieving their healthcare goals would be recognized as Ayushman Gram Panchayats.
The President commended the Seva Pakwada initiative, scheduled from September 17 to October 2, which seeks to ensure that essential health services reach every individual. This reflects the government’s commitment to achieving sustainable development goals promptly.
The President also applauded India’s digital inclusion efforts, ensuring that every village and district has access to healthcare facilities, which significantly contributes to the reach of healthcare services nationwide.
