Prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards 2026 Held in Madrid: Full Winners List and Highlights
The Laureus World Sports Awards 2026 were held in the Capital of Spain In Madrid. This event ceremony brings together the biggest names in the global sports for the grand celebration of excellence. This prestigious event honored the top athletes and teams for their outstanding performances in the calendar year 2025. This year tennis stars have dominated the night as the Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka taking top honors of the night. While the Paris Saint-Germain and Lando Norris have also emerged as the major winners.
Upcoming Tennis sensation Grand-slam winner Carlos Alcaraz was named the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year after for the incredible season which saw him reclaim the world No.1 in the ranking and won the multiple Grand Slam titles. At age of just 22 he became one of the youngest winners of this prestigious award.
Aryna Sabalenka have also secured the Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year title and maintained her dominance throughout the year. Her consistent performances which includes the a US Open victory set her apart from the competition.
Paris Saint-Germain from the Paris League 1 club has won the Laureus World Team of the Year Award after the historic season. The club have secured multiple trophies which includes the their first UEFA Champions League title and establish themselves as one of the most dominant teams in the modern football.
Their remarkable achievements placed them among the elite clubs like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona that have previously won this honor.
Lando Norris the F1 driver won the Breakthrough of the Year Award after becoming the Formula One World Champion and delivered exceptional performances throughout the season.
Meanwhile Rory McIlroy have received the Comeback of the Year Award. His emotional victory at the Masters helped him complete the long-awaited career Grand Slam and it marks the one of the most inspiring moments in sports.
Lamine Yamal Spain and FC Barcelona Forward made history by winning the Young Sportsperson of the Year Award which showcases his rapid rise in global football at a young age of just 17.
Chloe Kim have continued her dominance by winning the Action Sportsperson of the Year Award and further cemented her legacy in winter sports.
Gabriel Araújo was also honored as Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability and which showcases the excellence in para-sports on the global stage.
Toni Kroos the Former Real Madrid and German National who won the 6 UEFA Champions League and One FIFA World Cup have received the Sporting Inspiration Award after the exceptional career filled with major titles and achievements.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Nadia Comăneci who marks the 50 years since her historic perfect 10 in Olympic gymnastics in which that moment that changed the sport forever.
