Priya Nair to Take Over as CEO and MD of HUL

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has announced that Priya Nair will become its new CEO and Managing Director, starting from August 1, 2025. She is currently President of Beauty & Wellbeing at Unilever. This is an important leadership change for one of India’s biggest consumer goods companies. Rohit Jawa, the current CEO, will step down on July 31, 2025.

Priya Nair’s Journey and New Role

Priya Nair began her career at HUL in 1995 and has worked in many roles across sales and marketing in Home Care, Beauty, and Personal Care. Over the years, she became Executive Director of Home Care, and later headed Beauty & Personal Care at HUL. In 2023, she was made President of Beauty & Wellbeing at Unilever, a fast-growing global business.

Now, Priya is returning to India to take charge as the CEO and MD of HUL, and will also join the HUL Board, pending official approvals. She will continue to be part of the Unilever Leadership Executive team.

Rohit Jawa’s Contribution

Rohit Jawa took over as CEO and MD of HUL in 2023. In his two-year term, he focused on driving volume-led growth and introduced the ‘ASPIRE’ strategy, which helped the company grow in high-demand sectors and strengthen its product portfolio.

Before leading HUL, Rohit held several top roles at Unilever, including Executive VP for North Asia, Chair of Unilever China, and Chair of Unilever Philippines. He will now move on to new opportunities in his career and personal life.

Official Reactions and Future Outlook

Nitin Paranjpe, Chairman of HUL, thanked Rohit for his leadership during tough times and praised his efforts in strengthening the company. He also welcomed Priya Nair back to HUL and said he is confident she will take the company forward with her deep market knowledge and strong leadership.

This change marks a new chapter for HUL, which is aiming to keep growing in India’s fast-changing consumer market.
