Punjab Help Centre Launched at IGI Airport to Assist NRIs
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inaugurated the ‘Punjab Help Centre’ at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. This makes Punjab the first state in India to establish a dedicated NRI Facilitation Centre, underscoring its commitment to supporting its overseas community.
24×7 Operation: The centre offers round-the-clock assistance for NRIs and other passengers.
Range of Services: Includes help with arrival and connecting flights, taxi services, lost luggage, and other airport-related needs.
Local Transportation: Equipped with two Innova cars for transportation to Punjab Bhawan and nearby locations.
Emergency Accommodations: Rooms at Punjab Bhawan available based on availability.
Dedicated Helpline: 011-61232182 for immediate assistance.
Bhagwant Mann highlighted that this initiative represents a historic milestone for Punjab, aimed at enhancing the travel experience for Punjabi travelers and providing essential support. He also addressed the recent controversy involving wrestler Vinesh Phogat, calling for a transparent investigation into the incident. Mann expressed disappointment over the alleged mishandling of the wrestler’s weight and stressed the need for a thorough inquiry to restore trust in the sports system.
Mann assured that issues related to vehicle entry from Punjab into the national capital would be resolved soon, given the Aam Aadmi Party’s governance in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
