Punjab Launches ‘Udyog Kranti’ to Propel Industrial Growth (1)
In a landmark move to bolster industrial growth, the AAP-led Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal, launched the Punjab Udyog Kranti initiative on June 10, 2025. Touted as India’s first comprehensive industrial revolution at the state level, this reform package includes 12 pioneering initiatives designed to simplify business processes, ensure timely approvals, and promote investor-friendly governance. The centrepiece of the reform is a 45-day deemed approval system and a digital single-window platform, aimed at transforming Punjab into an industrial hub.
The Punjab Udyog Kranti initiative was officially launched on June 10, 2025. It introduces 12 major reforms to streamline industrial approvals, encourage investments, and improve Punjab’s ease of doing business. The initiative also includes a unique colour-coded stamp paper system to reduce bureaucratic hurdles. This is the first-of-its-kind comprehensive industrial reform package implemented by any Indian state.
