Rahul Himalian Assumes Additional Charge as IRCTC Chairman and Managing Director

Rahul Himalian, the Director (Tourism & Marketing), has been given the additional charge of the Chairman & Managing Director of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) after Sanjay Kumar Jain resigned. Rahul Himalian is a senior Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer of the 1999 batch and has over 26 years of experience in the railway system, tourism, marketing, and administration, to help him lead the tourism and catering business among the biggest public sector enterprises in India.

IRCTC Has Granted Additional CMD Charge to Rahul Himalian

The IRCTC announced that after Sanjay Kumar Jain quit his position, Rahul Himalian has been given the rank of CMD.

His appointment took place on July 20, 2026, ensuring an uninterrupted leader for the public sector organization.

Although being the CMD, Himalin will continue to work as the Director (Tourism & Marketing).

What is known about Rahul Himalian?

Rahul Himalian is an officer in the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), who graduated in 1999 and has 26 years of experience in railways and IRCTC.

He is a member of the company’s board since February 16, 2024.

Since that time, he has acquired a tremendous experience in railway management, tourist service, and development, as well as strategic planning.
