Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) won the Senior Women Inter-Departmental National Hockey Championship by defeating Indian Oil 3-1 in the final, held at Major Dhyanchand National Stadium. This win avenges their loss in last year’s summit clash. Indian Oil scored first in the 18th minute through Deepika, but Vandana Katariya equalized for Railways just a minute later. Railways took the lead in the fourth quarter, with captain Navneet Kaur scoring a crucial goal, followed by a final strike from Salima Tete, who was named Player of the Match.
Vandana Katariya: India’s most capped player, equalized immediately after Indian Oil’s first goal.
Navneet Kaur: Railways’ captain, scored the go-ahead goal in the fourth quarter.
Salima Tete: Sealed the victory for Railways and was named Player of the Match for her standout performance.
Earlier, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) claimed the bronze, defeating Sports Authority of India (SAI) 3-2 in a penalty shootout after a goalless regulation time.
