Ravindra Jadeja Becomes 4th Cricketer in History to Achieve This
In a historic moment for Indian cricket, Ravindra Jadeja has become only the fourth player in Test cricket history to achieve the rare double of 4000 runs and 300 wickets. The feat places him alongside legends like Kapil Dev, Ian Botham, and Daniel Vettori, reaffirming his legacy as one of the game’s greatest all-rounders. The 36-year-old all-rounder accomplished this landmark during the India vs South Africa Test match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on November 15, 2025, marking his 88th Test appearance for India.
Jadeja needed just 10 more runs to complete the milestone when he walked into bat on Day 2. He reached the mark in the morning session, further enhancing his credentials as the World No. 1 Test all-rounder.
| Player | Country | Matches | Runs | Wickets |
| Kapil Dev | India | 131 | 5248 | 434 |
| Ian Botham | England | 102 | 5200 | 383 |
| Daniel Vettori | New Zealand | 113 | 4531 | 362 |
| Ravindra Jadeja | India | 88 | 4000 | 338 |
Jadeja becomes the second Indian cricketer after Kapil Dev to join this elite group, and the second fastest to achieve the milestone, only behind Ian Botham, who reached it in his 72nd Test.
His contribution goes beyond numbers, offering balance to the Indian team and impacting matches with both bat and ball.
