Rohan Bopanna and Matt Ebden Triumph at Miami Open
The top-seeded duo of Rohan Bopanna from India and Matthew Ebden from Australia won the Men’s Doubles Title at the Miami Open, a prestigious ATP Masters tennis tournament. In an exciting final, they defeated the second seeds Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek with a score of 6-7(3), 6-3, [10-6].
This Miami Open triumph marks the second title of the season for Bopanna and Ebden. Earlier this year, they won the Australian Open in Melbourne, making it a remarkable start to their partnership.
The final was a closely contested affair. Bopanna and Ebden missed three set points at 6-5 in the first set, eventually losing it in the tiebreak. However, they bounced back strongly, winning the last six points in a row to secure the title.
This is the second ATP Masters title for Bopanna and Ebden as a pair. Last year, they won the prestigious Indian Wells tournament, further solidifying their partnership.
In the Challenger tournament in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, the Indian duo of Rithvik Bollipalli and Niki Poonacha won the doubles title. They defeated Antoine Bellier and Marc-Andrea Huesler in the final with a score of 6-3, 6-2. This was their first Challenger title as a pair, and they collected $4,665 in prize money and 75 ATP points.
Bopanna and Ebden’s triumph at the Miami Open further solidifies their position as one of the top doubles teams on the ATP Tour. Their consistent performances and ability to overcome adversity in matches make them a formidable force in the world of professional tennis.
