Ross Island New Name: What Is It Called Now?
The island of Ross Island in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands which holds much importance historically is now called as the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep. This island has been renamed in December 2018 for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and his contribution to India’s freedom struggle. Near Sri Vijaya Puram, this island used to be an important administrative point of the British in the Andamans. In present times, it is now an important historical place to visit because of the presence of colonial buildings, picturesque surroundings and India’s freedom struggle.
