About Artificial Manual Breathing Unit (AMBU):
The Artificial Manual Breathing Unit (AMBU) has been developed by SCTIMST. The AMBU bag is a hand-held device that provides positive pressure ventilation to a patient who is either not breathing or who is breathing inadequately. To achieve the rapid production, AMBU has been designed with readily available components to make it an alternative solution. The automatic device will help in minimizing the need of support personnel in the isolation room and hence enable a safer and effective lung-protective operation to COVID-19 patients.
The automated ventilators to be developed jointly by SCTIMST & Wipro 3D can help in meeting urgent requirements arising out of the COVID-19 related crisis.
