ShramMitra App Launched in Haryana to Replace Traditional Labour Chowk System
Government of Haryana has launched the ShramMitra app which is the new platform designed to connect the workers and employers directly through smartphones. It was introduced by the Labour Minister Anil Vij and this app aims to modernise how daily wage and skilled workers find the jobs and reducing dependence on traditional labor chowks.
The Haryana government has officially launched the ShramMitra mobile application, it is a digital initiative aimed at making worker hiring faster, simpler and more transparent.
The app has been developed by the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
According to the Labour Minister Anil Vij, this platform will create a direct communication channel between employers and workers, reducing delays, confusion and dependence on the informal hiring networks.
The initiative is being positioned as the major labour market reform.
ShramMitra is designed to function as the Electronic Employment Exchange for daily wage, skilled and self-employed workers.
Instead of physically waiting at labor chowks for work, workers can now search for the employment opportunities directly from their phones.
The platform will allows the digital job matching between employers and job seekers.
This could gradually replace the Haryana’s traditional labour chowk system, where workers gather in public areas hoping to get hired.
