Indian wrestler Sunil Kumar secured a bronze medal in the 87kg Greco-Roman category at the Asian Wrestling Championships 2025 held in Amman, Jordan. After losing in the semifinals against Iran’s Yasin Yazdi, Sunil bounced back in the bronze medal match, defeating China’s Jiaxin Huang. A former silver medallist (2019), Sunil is striving to regain his peak form. He began his campaign with a commanding 10-1 victory over Tajikistan’s Sukhrob Abdulkhaev in the quarterfinals, scoring all his points in the second period. However, Iran’s Yazdi defeated him 3-1 in the semifinal, preventing him from reaching the final.
