Award for Leading in Battery Manufacturing

The IESA Industry Excellence Award 2025 was received by S.K. Sharma, Director of Electronics and EV&ESS, on behalf of the Telangana government. The award recognises Telangana’s work in building a strong system for battery production and new energy technologies.

The award ceremony took place during the 11th India Energy Storage Week (IESW), a major event in the energy and clean-tech sector, held in New Delhi.

Telangana’s Energy Strategy

Telangana has become a growing hub for advanced energy manufacturing, including battery production, electric vehicle (EV) assembly, and energy storage systems. This growth is supported by forward-thinking government policies such as the Telangana EV and Energy Storage Policy and the Telangana Renewable Energy Policy.

The state has also set up special industrial zones to attract businesses in the battery and EV sectors. These steps have helped Telangana draw major investments and create a full supply chain for battery production and EV components.

Official Statement and Future Outlook

The IT, Electronics, and Communications Department of Telangana stated that this award reflects the state’s strong support for innovation, infrastructure development, and green energy. Telangana plans to continue its focus on clean energy to become a national leader in the energy storage and EV industry.
