Traffic congestion is a serious problem in many Asian cities, affecting millions of people every day. Long travel times, frustration, and delays make daily life difficult for commuters. In 2024, several cities continued to struggle with heavy traffic, making it challenging for residents to move around efficiently. Here is a look at the top 10 worst cities for traffic.
The TomTom Traffic Index, in its yearly report, shared data on traffic trends from 387 cities in 55 countries for 2023. The report showed that average driving speeds went down in most cities. Around 82 cities worldwide had no change in their average speed compared to the previous year.
Bengaluru of India, with the time lost per year of 132 hours at rush hours, stands as the city with the worst traffic in the world 2024, followed by Pune of India, Manila of Philippines and Taichung of Taiwan.
