Top 10 Richest Cricket Boards in 2026: BCCI Leads the List
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) continues to reign supreme in terms of finances in the world of international cricket, and it still happens to be the richest cricket board in the world. An estimated value of US$2.2 billion (about ₹18,760 crore) makes the BCCI miles ahead of any other cricket board in the world. According to the latest rankings that are widely reported, Cricket Australia is valued at US$79 million while the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have been valued at US$59 million and US$55 million respectively.

The financial clout of the BCCI is tied in with the huge business value of Indian cricket. The Indian Premier League (IPL), which lies at the heart of the ecosystem, earns revenue through media rights, sponsorship, tickets, and other commercial tie-ups.
The BCCI has managed to generate a total amount of ₹48,390.32 crore from its 2023–27 IPL media rights auction.
Apart from the IPL media rights, the board also earns revenue from media rights of international and domestic cricket. In 2023, Viacom18 bagged the media rights of international and domestic cricket of BCCI from September 2023 to March 2028 for ₹5,963 crore.
There is one more business property in the form of the Women’s Premier League, whose 2023–27 media rights were sold for ₹951 crore.
All these business properties can be seen as reasons why the cricket administration of India stands out financially from other boards.
Cricket Australia (CA) holds the second position with a net worth of $79 million estimated.
It enjoys a developed cricketing environment in the country fueled by international cricket, broadcast deals, sponsorship and the Big Bash League (BBL). A robust domestic sports market and a well-established cricketing audience create several avenues for commercial revenue generation.
Although it is one of the most commercially prosperous cricket boards in the world, the estimated valuation of the organization is surprisingly lower compared to that of the BCCI.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is in the third position with a net worth of $59 million estimated.
Commercial success enjoyed by the England men’s and women’s national sides, domestic cricket and broadcast deals benefit ECB. The franchise-based competitions like The Hundred and T20 Blast create several commercial avenues as well.
England’s history of cricket along with popular fixtures, including the Ashes, add to its prominent status in the world of cricketing economics.
In terms of valuation, the PCB comes in fourth place at around $55 million while the BCB follows in fifth place at a value of $51 million.
As for Pakistan, its PSL is one such commercial property along with other sources like international broadcasting deals and sponsorship.
Bangladesh’s finances, on the other hand, benefit from its BPL, international cricket, sponsorships, and broadcasting deals.
The small variance in the values of both organizations indicates their growing financial competition.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) takes sixth place at around $47 million, with Zimbabwe Cricket following at seventh with $38 million.
There are multiple commercial sources for South Africa that include international cricket, television, sponsorships, and their domestic franchise tournament known as the SA20.
The cricket economy in Zimbabwe exists on a smaller scale and is traditionally based on international cricket revenue.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is in eighth place with $20 million, West Indies Cricket Board follows with $15 million, while New Zealand Cricket (NZC) is tenth with $9 million.
Sri Lanka earns from international cricket and the Lanka Premier League, while West Indies have the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) which serves as their franchise property.
New Zealand’s small domestic market means its cricket governing body has a lower financial scale compared to India, Australia and England.
