Singapore National Stadium

Diameter: 1,017 feet

The Singapore National Stadium is the biggest dome in the world. It is located in Tanjong Rhu, Kallang, Singapore. The dome has a size of 1,017 feet in diameter. It opened in June 2014 and is special because it has a retractable roof, which means it can open or close in just 20 minutes.

This stadium protects people from sun and rain and even has a roof that can be used as a projector screen. The seating area can be moved to support different sports like football, rugby, athletics and cricket. It can hold up to 55,000 spectators.

AT&T Stadiums

Diameter: 902 feet

Located in Arlington, Texas, the AT&T Stadium, earlier called Cowboys Stadium, has the second-largest dome in the world with a 902-feet diameter. It opened in 2009 and used 14,100 tons of steel to build the roof.

The roof can also open and close in just 12 minutes. The stadium can seat up to 100,000 people for special events and 80,000 for normal games. It hosts NFL games, concerts, rodeos, soccer matches and even religious programs.

Oita Stadium

Diameter: 899 feet

Oita Stadium in Japan is the third-largest dome in the world. Its diameter is 899 feet. It was built for the 2002 FIFA World Cup and opened in 2001. It had 43,000 seats, but now has 40,000.

The stadium has a retractable roof made of Teflon material, which allows natural light to come in. The stadium is used for many sports and public events.

Georgia Dome

Diameter: 840 feet

The Georgia Dome, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is the fourth-largest dome with a diameter of 840 feet. It opened in 1992 and was once the biggest domed stadium in the world.

The dome was as tall as a 27-story building and used 8,300 tons of steel. It had space for 71,250 people and was used for basketball, football, soccer, concerts and church events.

Louisiana Superdome

The Louisiana Superdome, also known as the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, is in New Orleans, Louisiana. Its dome is 679 feet wide, making it the fifth-largest in the world.

It was built in 1971, with a total cost of $163 million. The dome was badly damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, but it reopened in 2006 after repairs. Today, it hosts big concerts, sports events and conventions.
