The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been ranked as the third-largest contributor of humanitarian aid globally in 2025, according to newly released data from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA). The Financial Tracking Service (FTS) report shows that the UAE contributed $1.46 billion in humanitarian assistance this year, representing 7.2% of all global aid tracked by the UN. The UAE ranked only behind the United States and the European Union, surpassing all other countries in international humanitarian giving.
Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, noted that this global ranking is a result of visionary leadership under President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
He emphasized that the UAE’s humanitarian outreach is rooted in solidarity, global cooperation, and sustainable development, values passed down from the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Sheikh Theyab also highlighted the guidance of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who has played a pivotal role in expanding the reach and strategic focus of UAE humanitarian efforts.
