In a heartwarming Diwali gesture, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a special gift for the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme. The Ujjwala scheme, a central government initiative aimed at providing free LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) connections to economically disadvantaged households, is set to bring joy to approximately 1.75 crore families in the state.
The announcement came during an event in Bulandshahr, where Chief Minister Adityanath not only shared this uplifting news but also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of various development projects worth a substantial Rs 632 crore. The significance of this Diwali gift for the Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries cannot be understated, as it marks a pivotal moment in improving the lives of the less privileged.
On the same day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath continued his efforts to boost the state’s development by inaugurating and laying foundation stones for 132 projects valued at Rs 136 crore in Hapur district. This event brought together key figures, including state BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary, Union minister Kaushal Kishore, UP social welfare minister Asim Arun, and other dignitaries. These projects will not only create opportunities but also contribute to the overall progress of the state.
Chief Minister Adityanath also took the opportunity to highlight the significant efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He mentioned that the Prime Minister had already provided a gift to every family through the Ujjwala scheme by reducing cylinder prices by Rs 300, referring to the recent increase in subsidies on cooking gas connections.
Building on this, Adityanath revealed the latest addition to the Ujjwala scheme – every beneficiary will receive a free cooking gas cylinder as a Diwali gift. This move is not only a generous gesture but also a testament to the government’s commitment to improving the lives of the underprivileged.
The Chief Minister went on to emphasize the transformative impact of various BJP schemes. He shared that under the PM Awas Yojna, 55 lakh women in Uttar Pradesh have become homeowners, and 2.75 lakh toilets have been constructed in the state as part of the ‘Swachh Bharat‘ initiative. These schemes have not only provided shelter but also improved sanitation and hygiene.
Chief Minister Adityanath also praised the impact of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao‘ campaign, which has now reached a point where women like Parul Chaudhary and Annu Rani have won gold medals in the Asian Games, bringing honor to the country and Uttar Pradesh. In recognition of their achievements, both of these accomplished athletes will be appointed deputy SPs, and gold, silver, and bronze medal winners at this year’s Asian Games will be awarded financial incentives by the state government.
