UP Divyangjan Sashaktikaran Yojana 2026: Benefits, Eligibility, Documents and Application Process
The UP Divyangjan Sashaktikaran Yojana 2026 is a welfare scheme for the economic and social upliftment of Persons with the Disabilities (PwDs). This scheme involves the provision of benefits to eligible beneficiaries in terms of the financial assistance, assistive devices, travel, scholarships, and other skill development opportunities.
This scheme is designed to empower and make individuals with disabilities economically independent and able to earn their livelihood through dignity and self-respect. The scheme further emphasises the training of persons with disabilities in industry relevant fields like Information Technology, Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC), and hospitality.
This is a government welfare scheme for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) which is implemented by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. As per the information available on the initiative, it was launched back in 2016 and offers various kinds of assistance to eligible PwDs.
The scheme involves making beneficiaries economically independent by means of skill development and providing access to facilities in addition to the social security aspect.
The main purpose of the UP Divyangjan Sashaktikaran Yojana scheme is to empower persons with disabilities by making them economically independent and self-reliant.
The scheme targets skill development for high growth sectors such as Information Technology, AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics), Hospitality. The scheme also aims to facilitate the beneficiaries in participating in job opportunities involving tasks and processes.
Through the integration of welfare and skills training, the scheme attempts to increase the participation of PwDs in economic activities and the overall society.
Under the scheme, various types of benefits may be provided to eligible persons with disabilities. Some of the benefits that may be received include a ₹1,000 monthly pension for eligible PwDs under the scheme.
Free assistive devices may be provided under the scheme to enable the persons to meet their functional challenges. Persons who are eligible for the scheme may also enjoy free travel facilities on UP Roadways.
Divyang students are also eligible to get various scholarships from the scheme.
The candidates should fulfill some criteria to avail themselves of the benefits of UP Divyangjan Sashaktikaran Yojana.
The candidate must be a resident of the state of Uttar Pradesh and should have a minimum of 40 percent disability. The minimum age criterion for this scheme is 18 years.
The other essential eligibility criterion is income. The yearly income of the family should not exceed ₹46,080 for families residing in rural areas and ₹56,460 for those in urban areas.
Another crucial eligibility criterion is that the person must not be receiving any other pension from the Central or State Government.
The candidates must ensure that they have all the necessary documents before they begin with the registration process.
These documents help to prove one’s identity, residency, eligibility, and disability.
The primary documents required by the candidate are Disability Certificate, Aadhaar Card, Bank Passbook, Uttar Pradesh Domicile Certificate, Educational Qualification Certificate, and passport size photograph.
The candidate belonging to the category of SC/ST might need to provide a caste certificate for getting the subsidy benefits.
The eligible candidates may submit the application online via the authorized website of the Uttar Pradesh Divyangjan welfare.
The first step involves visiting the authorized application portal and selecting the right option for registration/login.
The registered candidate can login using his/her login id and password, and new candidates have to click on the link “New Registration.”
During the registration process, candidates will be required to fill in all the relevant personal as well as residential information along with information about their district and tehsil.
All the information must be entered very carefully along with uploading the necessary documents.
The last step involves clicking on “Submit” button after filling in all information, and an application number will be allotted.
Pension/other benefits shall be given to the candidate only after verification of the application by the respective Gram Panchayat/Block/District Social Welfare Office.
