The UP Mahila Udyam Nidhi Yojana 2026 is a women entrepreneurship assistance program, it is launched by the Uttar Pradesh Government, with the purpose of providing affordable credit facilities to women who are willing to start or develop small or micro ventures. The aim of this program includes ensuring self-employment as well as financial independence and helping businesses started by women.

What Is UP Mahila Udyam Nidhi Yojana?

The UP Mahila Udyam Nidhi Yojana, it is an initiative taken by the government of the state of Uttar Pradesh to enhance women’s access to institutional finances.

This project started in the year 2016 and is executed through UP Mahila Nidhi.

This project assists women in starting new enterprises as well as expanding small and micro enterprises.

Objective of the Scheme

The main goal of the initiative is to promote and support women entrepreneurship through the provision of low-cost financial help for the establishment and development of micro-entrepreneurships.

It focuses on raising the number of women involved in the economy as one of its goals, giving women self-employment opportunities, providing assistance to micro-enterprises, increasing the level of financial inclusion, and enhancing women’s living conditions in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The initiative contributes to government efforts aimed at promoting female entrepreneurship and developing entrepreneurial culture in the country.

Benefits of the Scheme

The UP Mahila Udyam Nidhi Yojana offers a range of financial and business benefits to eligible women entrepreneurs.

Women entrepreneurs can apply for the loans worth ₹50,000 to ₹10 lakh at a much lower interest rate around 4%, which is still significantly lower than the interest rates charged by banks.

For the loans of up to ₹2 lakh, there is no collateral required, making it easier for first-time entrepreneurs to access credit.

The scheme also gives preference to women belonging to marginalized sections in the loan disbursement process, which includes disadvantaged women, women with disabilities, members of SHG, and widows.

These benefits help remove financial hindrances and motivate women to establish viable businesses.

Eligibility Conditions

The applicants need to fulfil the eligibility criteria given below,

  • The age of the applicant must be between 18 and 60 years, and the applicant should be a female.
  • The applicant should be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.
  • The applicant should have a viable micro/small enterprise or the plan to expand her business.
  • The annual family income of the applicant must be below ₹3 lakh.
  • The applicant must possess an Aadhaar-linked bank account.
  • The credit profile of the applicant (CIBIL score) may be needed in case of a higher-value loan.

Priority is given to the,

  • Self-Help Group (SHG) members
  • Widows
  • Disabled women
  • Women belonging to minority sections

  • Uttar Pradesh residence certificate
  • Business plan or evidence of existing business
  • Income certificate
  • Bank passbook linked with Aadhaar
  • Caste/ Widow/ Disability certificate (if eligible for priority benefits)
