The United States is gearing up for one of the most significant political events of the decade: the 2024 presidential election. Set to take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, this high-stakes election has already drawn worldwide attention as Americans prepare to cast their votes for the country’s next leader. This election will be a contest between two influential figures: Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. In the election, Donald Trump, representing the Republican Party, garnered 267 electoral votes with a popular vote count of 69,661,328, which accounted for 51.2% of the total votes. Kamala Harris, from the Democratic Party, received 224 electoral votes and 64,442,825 popular votes, or 47.3% of the total. Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate, secured no electoral votes but gathered 582,131 votes, making up 0.4% of the popular vote. Similarly, Independent candidate Robert Kennedy did not receive any electoral votes but obtained 570,789 votes, also representing 0.4% of the total votes cast.
