Venu Srinivasan Wins CII Quality Ratna Award 2025
In a major recognition of leadership in quality management, Venu Srinivasan, Chairman Emeritus of TVS Motor Company, was conferred the CII Quality Ratna Award 2025. The award was presented at the 33rd CII Excellence Summit in Kolkata on November 18, 2025, attended by over 1,000 quality experts and industry leaders. This award cements Srinivasan’s legacy as one of India’s most influential industrialists who helped shape the quality standards in Indian manufacturing to match global benchmarks.
Organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Institute of Quality, the summit aimed to drive India’s global manufacturing share from 3% to 25%, while generating 100 million new jobs. The summit served as a platform to discuss how India can become one of the top three manufacturing hubs globally, supported by quality leadership and innovation.
Venu Srinivasan’s felicitation reflects the critical role of visionary leadership in achieving this mission.
Venu Srinivasan introduced Total Quality Management (TQM) practices at TVS Motor decades ago—making it one of the first Indian automotive firms to achieve global certifications. Under his leadership, TVS Motor became the first two-wheeler company outside Japan to win the prestigious Deming Prize in 2002, setting a gold standard for Indian manufacturing.
At the summit, Srinivasan emphasised that designs should be led by customer needs, and employee trust is fundamental to long-term success. His philosophy reflects a modern industrial ethos where value creation, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction go hand-in-hand.
He stated, “Technology and social aspirations are driving new products. We must deeply understand customer needs and serve them for a lifetime.”
