Veteran Actor KPAC Rajendran Passes Away at 74

The Malayalam theatre and television world lost a shining star as KPAC Rajendran, a veteran actor and celebrated stage performer, passed away on July 31, 2025, in Alappuzha. He was 74 years old and breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College Hospital, Alappuzha. Known for his remarkable contribution to Kerala Peoples Arts Club (KPAC) and his unforgettable performances both on stage and on screen, Rajendran leaves behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations of theatre lovers.

A Theatre Icon and KPAC’s Beloved Star

Rajendran began his artistic journey as a theatre artist and soon became one of the most respected faces of the Kerala Peoples Arts Club (KPAC), the legendary theatre troupe that played a vital role in shaping Kerala’s socio-political theatre movement.

His most iconic role came in the timeless play “Ningalenne Communistakki”, a landmark production that defined KPAC’s contribution to progressive theatre in Kerala.

For decades, he remained an active presence on stage, performing and directing numerous plays that echoed social and political themes.
