Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan Takes Charge as Chief of Western Naval Command
Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan has assumed as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C) in Western Naval Command on 30st May, 2026 in Mumbai. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Vice Chief of the Naval Staff at Naval Headquarters in New Delhi. He had a distinguished naval career spanning over the three decades and he brings the extensive operational and strategic experience.
He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla and Vice Admiral Vatsayan was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 1st January 1988.
He is specialist in Gunnery and Missile Systems and he has held numerous command, operational, staff and training appointments throughout his career.
