Rajya Sabha Chairperson and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar inaugurated the ‘Prerna Sthal’ (Inspiration Site) within the Parliament House Complex. This newly constructed site houses statues of national icons and freedom fighters that were previously scattered across different locations on the premises.
During the inauguration, Dhankhar emphasized that the ‘Prerna Sthal’ will serve as a source of inspiration and motivation for people. He expressed his sentiment, saying, “I had never imagined that I would be able to offer tributes to great personalities in such a way by inaugurating the ‘Prerna Sthal’.”
Despite criticism from the Congress party over the removal of statues from their original locations, Dhankhar highlighted the objective behind this initiative, which was to create a dedicated space to honor these iconic figures.
The ‘Prerna Sthal’ aims to enhance visitor experience by providing easier access to these statues and leveraging modern technology, such as QR codes, to narrate the life stories of these inspiring figures from Indian history.
Dhankhar expressed confidence that all citizens who visit the ‘Prerna Sthal’ will be energized and motivated by the inspiring stories and legacies of these great leaders.
Acknowledging the significant contributions of these leaders in shaping the nation, Dhankhar emphasized the importance of honoring their legacy. He described the occasion as motivational and memorable, reflecting on the opportunity to pay tribute to these great personalities.
After the unveiling of the plaque at the ‘Prerna Sthal’, the Vice President, along with other dignitaries including the Speaker of Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Dr. Harivansh, and several Union Ministers, offered floral tributes to all the statues at the site.
The ‘Prena Sthal’ serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices and achievements of our national icons and freedom fighters. By bringing these statues together in one dedicated space, the Parliament House Complex aims to preserve their legacy and inspire future generations to uphold the values and principles they stood for.
As citizens visit the ‘Prerna Sthal’, they will have the opportunity to reflect on the rich history of India’s freedom struggle and the visionary leadership that shaped the nation’s democratic foundations.
