‘We Rise’ Initiative Launched BY NITI AAYOG

In a strategic step toward empowering women entrepreneurs in India, NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP), in partnership with DP World, has launched the ‘We Rise – Women Entrepreneurs Reimagining Inclusive and Sustainable Enterprises’ initiative. This initiative is part of WEP’s Award to Reward (ATR) framework and aims to support 100 high-potential women-led MSMEs in scaling globally through export readiness and trade integration. This initiative aligns with the national vision of “Viksit Bharat @2047” and aims to position women as key drivers of inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

What is the ‘We Rise’ Initiative?

  • The ‘We Rise’ initiative is a public–private collaboration designed to identify, mentor, and equip women-led MSMEs to enter global markets.
  • It integrates WEP’s extensive ecosystem of over 90,000 women entrepreneurs with DP World’s global trade infrastructure, creating a powerful platform for capacity-building, market access, and international trade participation.

Key Objectives

  • To make women-led MSMEs export-ready through tailored mentorship and business support.
  • To provide international market exposure, especially via platforms like Bharat Mart in Dubai.
  • To enable long-term capacity-building, including training on compliance, branding, logistics, and finance.
  • To facilitate access to global value chains, helping women entrepreneurs scale sustainably.

Major Features of the Initiative

1. Global Trade and Market Access

Selected women entrepreneurs will be given the opportunity to showcase their products at Bharat Mart, a dedicated B2B and B2C platform within Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone. This aims to promote Indian women-led brands in global markets.

2. Mentorship for Export Readiness

100 women entrepreneurs will receive structured mentorship on,

  • Trade compliance
  • Cross-border logistics
  • Brand positioning and digital visibility

This will leverage DP World’s trade facilitation expertise and global logistics network.

3. Plug-and-Play Public-Private Collaboration

Through the ATR framework, ‘We Rise’ supports scalable partnerships addressing common MSME challenges like,

  • Access to finance
  • Legal support
  • Market linkages
  • Regulatory navigation

4. Inclusive and Sustainable Business Support

  • The initiative not only supports export readiness but emphasizes sustainability, inclusivity, and long-term growth strategies tailored to women entrepreneurs’ unique needs.
