Famous Places in Mumbai

  • Gateway of India: This grand arch monument was built in the 20th century to honor the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to India in 1911. It is a major tourist attraction located near the Arabian Sea.
  • Marine Drive: A beautiful C-shaped, six-lane road along the coastline, Marine Drive was developed during the British rule as part of the Back Bay Reclamation Scheme. It is famous for its sunset views and is often called the “Queen’s Necklace” because of its sparkling lights at night.
  • Bandra-Worli Sea Link: This eight-lane suspension bridge, built in 2009, connects the central business district with the western suburbs. It has helped reduce travel time and offers a scenic drive over the Arabian Sea.
