On July 22, 1957, the World Federation of Neurology (WFN) was established. This proposal was presented during the World Congress of Neurology (WCN) Council of Delegates meeting on September 22, 2013, and it received a warm and enthusiastic response from the delegates. Following this positive reception, the Board of Trustees approved the concept in their meeting held in February 2014, making it an annual event to be celebrated on the same date each year.
