2026 Assembly Election Results: Major Political Shift Across West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam & Puducherry

The Assembly Election Results of 2026 for the States like West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Keralam, Assam and Puducherry (UT) have delivered the political shifts across the India.  The States like West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Keralam have witnessed the regime change as the ruling party could not get the majority mark. Though in Assam and Puducherry (UT) state leadership have retain the power in the new results.

West Bengal Assembly Results 2026

In the West Bengal Bharatiya Janta Partyu (BJP) has emerged as the largest single party by getting the 206 seats across the state. The All India Trinamool Congress does not get the majority mark as ruling party and they have to settle with the 80 seats. With this it is the first time that BJP will rule the state since their party’s formation. And Mamta Banerjee’s rule will comes to an end after 15 years of government.

Tamil Nadu Assembly Results 2026

A surprise turnaround from the state of Tamil Nadu as actor turned politician Vijay Thalapathy’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has emerged a the single largest party in the state (108). The other parties like Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) & All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (ADMK) have won the seats 59 & 47 equivalently.

  • Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) – Won: 2

Kerala Assembly Results 2026

In the Kerlam the United Democratic Front(UDF) won with a clear majority and ended the decade long rule of the Left Democratic Front(LDF). They have won more than 100 seats in the southern state of India. This is the first time in 50 years as there is no left government in any state of India as Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s LDF has lost the election.

Assam Assembly Results 2026

In the state of Assam the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has showcased its strong dominance by increasing the its seat tally to 82 and people have shown the faith in the current CM. As the NDA alliance has crossed the 100 seats marks the result shows the continuity in governance and party’s influence in the Northeast. While the principle opposition INC have to settle with just 19 seats.

Puducherry Assembly Results 2026

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has retained power in the UT Puducherry. The Chief Minister N Rangasamy has secured the victories in both constituencies he contested and strengthened the leadership. Also the opposition parties could not touch the majority mark.
