Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury reappointed PAC chairperson

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Congress leader in Lok Sabha has been reappointed as chairperson of the Parliament’s public accounts committee (PAC). He was reappointed the chairman of the committee by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

About the Public Accounts Committee(PAC):

The PAC examines accounts showing the appropriation of sums granted by Parliament for the expenditure of the Government of India, the annual financial accounts of the Government and others. The PAC is the oldest Parliamentary Committee in which 15 members are elected from the Lok Sabha and 7 members from the Rajya Sabha are elected every year for the 22 member panel of PAC.
