The bidding commenced at ₹1 crore, initiated by Chennai and Delhi Capitals. Subsequently, Lucknow Super Giants and RCB engaged in a spirited battle, with the bidding surpassing the ₹10 crore mark.

Alzarri Joseph made his IPL debut in 2019 with Mumbai Indians and holds the record for the best bowling figures on debut, having taken 6 wickets for 12 runs. Following his stint with Mumbai Indians, he joined Gujarat Titans and was also part of the recent 2023 IPL season.
