Andre Russell Retires from IPL, Joins KKR Support Staff
Andre Russell, one of the Indian Premier League’s most explosive all-rounders, has announced his retirement from IPL cricket, ending a decade-long association with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The 37-year-old Jamaican will now transition into the KKR support staff as their new “Power Coach”, just ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction set to be held in Abu Dhabi on December 16.
Russell, who first entered the IPL in 2012 with Delhi Daredevils, became a KKR icon from 2014 onwards, known for his blistering hitting, fast bowling, and on-field dynamism.
Russell’s high-impact performances made him one of the most feared finishers and match-winners in the league’s history.
