Appointment of Mariam Mammen Mathew as DNPA Chairperson

Mariam Mammen Mathew, CEO of Manorama Online, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA) for a two-year term starting April 1, 2024. She succeeds Tanmay Maheshwari, Managing Director of Amar Ujala.

New Leadership and Roles

  • Chairperson: Mariam Mammen Mathew, CEO of Manorama Online, appointed as the new Chairperson of DNPA, succeeding Tanmay Maheshwari.
  • Vice-Chairman: Puneet Gupt, COO of Times Internet, appointed as the new Vice-Chairman.
  • Continuation: Puneet Jain, CEO of Digital HT Media, continues in his role as the Treasurer.

DNPA’s Role and Members

  • Umbrella Organization: DNPA serves as a significant umbrella organization for digital media businesses, including print and broadcasting.
  • Member Organizations: DNPA comprises 18 prominent media organizations, including Dainik Jagran, Dainik Bhaskar, The Indian Express, and others.
  • Endeavors: DNPA aims to democratize the digital news space, aligning with regulatory efforts to ensure fairness in the operations of Big Tech platforms in India.
