Subodh Kumar (IAS), a 2010-batch Indian Administrative Service officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Ayush. The appointment, effective from the date of assuming charge, is initially until October 8 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Presently, Kumar is on ‘Compulsory wait’ in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel (DoPT) on May 3, Subodh Kumar has been selected for the position. The order instructs his immediate release from his current assignment with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries and to assume his new role in the Ministry of Ayush.
The order also considers the possibility of Subodh Kumar being on election-related duty, stating that if he is engaged in such duties due to the declaration of Lok Sabha elections, he should be relieved after obtaining clearance from the Election Commission of India to take up his new assignment in the Ministry of Ayush.
