B.P. Singh Assumes Charge as DG Naval Armament at Naval Headquarters
Shri B.P. Singh has officially taken charge as the new Director General of Naval Armament (DGONA) at Naval Headquarters in New Delhi. This Appointment come from March 1 2026. He is a senior officer of the 1994 batch of the Indian Naval Armament Service. He succeeds Shri Divakar Jayant who retired on February 28 2026. With more than three decades of experience in naval armament management, procurement and logistics. His appointment marks an important leadership transition in the Indian Navy’s armament organization.

Shri B.P. Singh is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Bihar College of Engineering, now National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna.
His long experience in the Indian Naval Armament Service makes him well-equipped for the DGONA role.
