Bharti Airtel has unveiled a new content partnership with Apple, set to offer exclusive Apple Music and Apple TV+ deals to customers in India later this year. As part of this collaboration, Apple TV+ will be integrated into Airtel’s Xstream video-streaming service available through premium Wi-Fi and postpaid plans. Additionally, Airtel’s Wynk Premium music-streaming service will offer special deals for Apple Music subscribers.
The financial terms of the partnership and the cost of the new plans were not disclosed. Following this agreement, Airtel will exit the music streaming sector and shut down its Wynk music app, with all employees being absorbed into other roles.
This announcement comes amid Disney and Reliance’s efforts to secure antitrust approval for their $8.5 billion merger, which aims to create India’s largest entertainment entity.
