Book Launch Spotlight: ’75 Great Revolutionaries of India’

Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh attended the launch of ’75 Great Revolutionaries of India,’ a book by MP Bhim Singh. Singh praised the work for highlighting lesser-known freedom fighters. The book aims to inspire a developed India by recognizing historical sacrifices.

Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh attended the launch ceremony of Rajya Sabha MP Bhim Singh’s latest book titled ’75 Great Revolutionaries of India’ on August 11.

Highlight on lesser known heroes

Singh praised the creative and inspiring work, stating, ‘Rajya Sabha MP Bhim Singh has highlighted the contributions of lesser-known heroes.’ Singh added that the MP had meticulously researched and compiled facts for this book, among three others, celebrating the sacrifices of unsung revolutionaries.

A source of inspiration

Singh emphasized that the book serves as a source of inspiration for building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India). ‘Many historians have pointed out that strength for the future is drawn from the past. This book’s stories of 75 revolutionaries fuel one’s spirit and ambition to contribute to India’s development,’ said Singh.

Tribute to freedom fighters

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tribute to freedom fighters, commemorating the Quit India Movement led by Mahatma Gandhi. ‘Homage to all those who took part in the Quit India Movement under Bapu’s leadership. It was truly a watershed moment in our freedom struggle,’ PM Modi had posted. The Quit India Movement called for a non-violent mass protest, urging an ‘orderly British withdrawal‘ from India. Annually, the day is observed as August Kranti Day.

The Quit India Movement, also known as the August Kranti, was marked by Gandhi’s call for an “orderly British withdrawal” from India. His speeches during this period encouraged every Indian who desired freedom to be their own guide. The day is commemorated as August Kranti Day each year, serving as a reminder of the nation’s relentless struggle for independence.
