Shivaji Maharaj was born as Shivaji Bhosale in 1630 CE. He was known for his military intelligence, administrative skills and progressive policies. He introduced several reforms in his kingdom, ensuring justice, equality and respect for all.
He is also called the “Father of the Indian Navy” because he built a strong naval force to protect the coast from foreign invaders. His naval power played a crucial role in defending the Maratha Empire.
On April 3, 1680, Shivaji Maharaj passed away at Raigad Fort due to severe fever and dysentery. His death was a great loss for India, but his legacy continues to inspire millions of people.
